Use Vinegar

This works great for smoke and other odors!

Take a small bowel and put some vinegar in it. Set it in the room that has the odor. You might want several small bowls depending upon how bad the it is. Both white distilled and apple cider vinegar work well.

You can also use this in a spray bottle inside your car. White distilled vinegar is only 5-8 percent acid so it should not stain material but always spray on a test spot before treating.
