Suzuki GZ250 Marauder Igniter CDI 1999-2010

Finding out that the OEM CDI unit PN:32900-13F00 for a Suzuki GZ250 Marauder was over 400.00 new and around 150.00 used I started looking for another answer.  After watching some videos and comparing wiring diagrams I found that with a few simple changes the Z250 CDI unit (Pn# 32900-05G10) will work with the GZ250.

The original cdi stopped working and I attempted to see inside, hoping to find a poor solder joint. After carefully cutting off the top and carefully removing the non conformal coating over the board I found nothing. I touched up a few things but it still did not work.

The bottom just shows more of the non-conformal coating which looks to be mixed in with gravel as a filler.

The replacement I was able to get to work is for the Z250 and the LTZ-250 Quadsport.

After comparing wiring diagrams and some experimentation I found what pins I needed to swap. Here’s a video of it working.

As you can see in the above video this bike does not have the original mounting bracket, but since I know most people do, we created a universal bracket adapter that I think should work for most people.

So if your looking for an inexpensive answer I have these cdi/igniter units available for sale on Ebay.

Update 7/23/25 – I no longer sell these, while it worked fine for me and several others it was not worth the hassle of selling due to people purchasing and returning thinking it would fix unrelated problems. Feel free to reach out if you would like the pinout info I used.
