Make Salsa

Make Salsa

Salsa your way.

Try making your own, it’s easy!

So what do we need other than a blender?

Diced tomatoes – 1 can (14.5 oz)
Garlic – 1 tbs (or more to taste)
Onion – 1/4 cup diced. (or more – I use vidalia but yellow is good too)
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Lime juice – 2 tbs ( Lemon juice works )
Cilantro – 2tbs of fresh ( dry works )
Jalapeno peppers – 3 or 4 slices ( Experiment with how hot you like it – you can always add more heat, I like to add my home made hot sauce )

Just put everything in your blender and mix it up! Usually a pulse or two is enough.

I prefer to use fresh ingredients but what I love about this recipe is that you can use off the shelf items and still get great results. It will cost about 1/3 of the price of the store bought stuff and you can mix it up at any time. You can modify to make this your own, here’s a few more ingredients you might want to add.

Red pepper flakes, corn, black beans, chives, cumin, sugar, other types of peppers.

Enjoy!
